BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED
Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Albuquerque NM
238 PM MDT Tue Jul 29 2025

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Mora County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 545 PM MDT.

* At 238 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain in Areas west of Wagon Mound, along NM 120 and Piedra
  Lumbre Arroyo. Between 0.25 and 2.75 inches of rain have fallen.
  Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Wagon Mound.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain there are numerous low water
crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
