The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...
* Until 130 AM MDT.
* At 1030 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Vado, Del Cerro and High Valley.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM MDT WEDNESDAY
FOR SOUTHEASTERN DONA ANA COUNTY...
At 1110 PM MDT, Moderate to heavy rain continues to fall over the
Vado Arroyo watershed. Emergency management reports flooding has
made roads impassable in the Vado area. Runoff from the High Valley
area will continue to cause flooding in Vado and Del Cerro even
after the rain abates.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Vado. This is a PARTICULARLY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management.
IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low lying
areas, streets, and arroyos.

Vado and Del Cerro.

FOR SOUTHEASTERN DONA ANA COUNTY...
At 1151 PM MDT, Heavy rainfall over the Vado Arroyo watershed has
diminished in intensity. Observed water flow in the arroyo at the
I-10 frontage roads is much lower than what was observed in the late
July floods, so the danger level has been lowered. Reports indicate
that the I-10 frontage road on the east bound side, Las Alturas, may
be impassable, but the water remains well below the level of the
Interstate and the Stern Drive frontage road. Flooding, though less
severe, is still expected to occur in Vado in the lowest lying areas.

MORNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN DONA ANA COUNTY...
At 1236 AM MDT, At 1230 AM MDT, only light rain was falling over the
Vado area. Observed water flow in the Vado Arroyo has diminished,
and emergency management reports so far no homes are threatened by
high water. Only minor flooding is expected to occur in the lowest
lying areas around Vado.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
