Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Runoff from the High Valley area will continue to cause flooding in Vado and Del Cerro even after the rain abates. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Vado. At 1151 PM MDT, Heavy rainfall over the Vado Arroyo watershed has diminished in intensity. Observed water flow in the arroyo at the I-10 frontage roads is much lower than what was observed in the late July floods, so the danger level has been lowered. Reports indicate that the I-10 frontage road on the east bound side, Las Alturas, may be impassable, but the water remains well below the level of the Interstate and the Stern Drive frontage road. Flooding, though less severe, is still expected to occur in Vado in the lowest lying areas. HAZARD...Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
