SUNDAY EVENING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE
SOUTH PLAINS, ROLLING PLAINS, AND THE FAR SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM CDT Saturday. A 
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued for Sunday morning 
through Sunday evening.

* Wind...For Saturday, south-southwest at 10 to 20 mph. For
  Sunday, west at 15 to 20 mph during the morning, becoming
  northeast at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph during the
  afternoon.

* Humidity...As low as 5 percent on both Saturday and Sunday.

* Fuels...Extremely dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 9 AM to 9 PM CDT Sunday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect, and the Red Flag
Warning previously in effect for Saturday has expired.

* Wind...West at 15 to 20 mph during the morning. Winds will then
  become northeast at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph behind
  a cold front during the afternoon. The wind shift will first
  affect the southern Texas Panhandle around midday, then affect 
  the South Plains and Rolling Plains later in the afternoon.

* Humidity...As low as 5 percent. 

* Fuels...Extremely dry.

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.
