The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Gila County in east central Arizona...
  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...
  Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 515 PM MST.

* At 435 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Miami, or 10
  miles west of Globe, and is nearly stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Globe, Miami, Top Of The World, Central Heights-Midland City,
  Top-Of-The-World, Claypool, and Inspiration.

This includes the following highways...
US Highway 60 between mile markers 230 and 248.
AZ Route 188 between mile markers 214 and 222, and between mile
markers 224 and 235.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR GILA...MARICOPA AND PINAL COUNTIES...

At 501 PM MST, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles north of
Top-Of-The-World, or 14 miles southeast of Roosevelt, and is nearly
stationary.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Top Of The World and Top-Of-The-World.

This includes the following highways...
US Highway 60 near mile marker 234, and between mile markers 236 and
241.
AZ Route 188 between mile markers 221 and 222, and between mile
markers 224 and 235.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR GILA...MARICOPA AND PINAL
COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 515 PM MST...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.
