* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Placer County in central California...
  Eastern Nevada County in northern California...

* Until 830 PM PDT.

* At 804 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles southwest
  of Alpine Meadows, moving north at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...Quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

* Locations impacted include...
  Donner Peak and Sugarbowl Ski Resort.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM PDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN PLACER AND EASTERN NEVADA COUNTIES...

At 819 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Sugarbowl Ski
Resort, or 8 miles west of Alpine Meadows, moving north at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to vehicles is expected.

Locations impacted include...
Donner Peak and Sugarbowl Ski Resort.

EASTERN NEVADA COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 830 PM PDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
