The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Keweenaw County in western Upper Michigan...

* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 451 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 43 miles north of Grand Portage State Park to near
  Thunder Bay Ontario to near Grand Portage to near Grand Marais,
  moving east at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Siskiwit Lake, Mott Island Park Headquarters, Windigo, Rock Harbor,
  and Mount Desor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Persons in campgrounds should seek sturdy shelter until these storms
pass.

At 536 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 23 miles northeast of Thunder Bay Ontario to 14 miles
north of Siskiwit Lake to 16 miles south of Grand Portage to 10 miles
south of Hovland, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Siskiwit Lake, Mott Island Park Headquarters, Windigo, Rock Harbor,
and Mount Desor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.
