The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East central Columbia County in east central Georgia...
  Central Edgefield County in central South Carolina...
  Northwestern Aiken County in central South Carolina...
  Southeastern McCormick County in central South Carolina...

* Until 300 PM EDT.

* At 220 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of
  Hamilton Branch State Park, or 16 miles north of Martinez, moving
  southeast at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to trees and powerlines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Evans, Edgefield, Johnston, Clarks Hill Recreation Area, Edgefield
  County Airport, Hamilton Branch State Park, J. Strom Thurmond Dam,
  Trenton, Parksville, Strom Thurmond High School, Scotts Landing,
  Colliers, River Island, Edgefield Federal Correction Institution,
  Westport, Lick Fork Campground, Riverside Park, Stevens Creek
  Public Park, Harmony, and Lost Wilderness Fire Station.

This includes Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 13
and 15, and between mile markers 20 and 21.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Severe thunderstorms can produce large capsizing waves and frequent
lightning. If on or near Lake Strom Thurmond move away from the water
and take shelter!

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR EAST CENTRAL COLUMBIA...SOUTHWESTERN EDGEFIELD...WEST CENTRAL
AIKEN AND SOUTHEASTERN MCCORMICK COUNTIES...

At 241 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast of
Clarks Hill Recreation Area, or 14 miles north of Martinez, moving
southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 
         trees and powerlines.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
