The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East Central Torrance County in central New Mexico...
  West Central De Baca County in east central New Mexico...
  Southwestern Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 645 PM MDT.

* At 614 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles east of
  Vaughn, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
           roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Vaughn.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 285 between Mile Markers 192 and 204. Highway 60 between Mile
Markers 256 and 300.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning is one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT FOR
EAST CENTRAL TORRANCE, WEST CENTRAL DE BACA AND SOUTHWESTERN
GUADALUPE COUNTIES...

At 626 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located 14 miles south of
Pastura, or 13 miles east of Vaughn, and along the Torrance and
Guadalupe border northwest of Vaughn moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.
