The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 615 PM MDT.

* At 527 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Raton, moving
  east at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
           roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Raton, Sugarite and Sugarite Canyon State Park.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 64 between Mile Markers 343 and 362. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 445 and 460.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM MDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN COLFAX COUNTY...

At 606 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Sugarite, or 6
miles east of Raton, moving east at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
  Raton, Sugarite and Sugarite Canyon State Park.

This includes the following highways...

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR NORTHEASTERN COLFAX
COUNTY...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been allowed to expire. However, small
hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain are still possible with this
thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT
Wednesday for a portion of northeast New Mexico.
