The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East Central Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...
  West Central Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 800 PM MDT.

* At 710 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of
  Cuervo, or 18 miles east of Santa Rosa, moving east at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
           roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Mainly rural areas of East Central Guadalupe and West Central Quay
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning is one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

EAST CENTRAL GUADALUPE AND WEST CENTRAL QUAY COUNTIES...

At 744 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 14 miles south of
Newkirk, or 28 miles north of Fort Sumner, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR EAST CENTRAL GUADALUPE
AND WEST CENTRAL QUAY COUNTIES...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been allowed to expire. However, small
hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain are still possible with this
thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT
Wednesday for a portion of east central New Mexico.
