* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 830 PM MDT.

* At 745 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
  12 miles south of Montoya to 9 miles southwest of Wheatland, moving
  east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Quay, Ragland and Forrest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM MDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN QUAY COUNTY...

At 810 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 8
miles southeast of Montoya to 9 miles east of Ragland, moving east at
10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
  Quay, Ragland and Forrest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
large hail.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning is one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 830 PM MDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN QUAY COUNTY...

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe
limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, small
hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain are still possible with these
thunderstorms.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT
Wednesday for a portion of east central New Mexico.
