The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northern Custer County in southeastern Montana...

* Until 1045 PM MDT.

* At 939 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 
  30 miles north of Miles City to 19 miles west of Miles City, 
  moving east at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Mesonet at Rock Springs gusted to 70 mph.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Miles City, Strawberry Hill Recreation Area, Matthews Recreation 
  Area, Twelve Mile Dam, Locate, Mizpah and Knowlton.

The strongest gusts are expected north of Miles City. Expect 
hazardous crosswinds on I-94.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure 
and stay away from windows. These storms have produced widespread 
damaging winds.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. 
Lightning is one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can 
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

At 1001 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 
29 miles northeast of Miles City to 8 miles south of Miles City, 
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
  Matthews Recreation Area and Locate.
