The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Quay County in east central New Mexico...
  Southeastern Harding County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 730 PM MDT.

* At 645 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
  22 miles south of Nara Visa to near Nara Visa, moving west at 10
  mph. Another severe storm was located north of Logan on the Quay
  and Harding County line.  The second storm was stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
           roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Nara Visa and Logan.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
large hail.

Heavy rains from severe thunderstorms can produce sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos, ditches and over low water crossings. Do
not attempt to drive through areas where water covers the roadway.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM MDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN QUAY AND SOUTHEASTERN HARDING COUNTIES...

At 707 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 10
miles south of Nara Visa to 5 miles northeast of Ute Lake State Park,
moving south at 5 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
  Nara Visa and Logan.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
