The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northern Quay County in east central New Mexico...
Southeastern Harding County in northeastern New Mexico...
East Central San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...
* Until 830 PM MDT.
* At 725 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
11 miles south of Nara Visa to 15 miles northwest of Ute Lake State
Park, moving south at 10 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include...
Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon, Ute Lake State Park and Bard.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 327 and 373. State Road 104
between Mile Markers 92 and 105.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

CENTRAL QUAY, SOUTHEASTERN HARDING AND EAST CENTRAL SAN MIGUEL
COUNTIES...
At 736 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 13
miles southwest of Nara Visa to 21 miles southeast of Mosquero,
moving south southwest at 20 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon and Ute Lake State Park.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 327 and 359. State Road 104
between Mile Markers 93 and 105.
