The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Custer County in central Nebraska...

* Until 600 PM CDT.

* At 509 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Callaway, or
  18 miles southwest of Broken Bow, moving northeast at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Callaway and Lodi.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR SOUTHWESTERN CUSTER COUNTY...

At 526 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Callaway, or 15
miles southwest of Broken Bow, moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN CUSTER COUNTY
WILL EXPIRE AT 600 PM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, heavy
rain is still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
central Nebraska.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
North Platte.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
east central Custer County through 630 PM CDT.
