The National Weather Service in Lubbock Texas has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Briscoe County in the Panhandle of Texas...

* Until 915 PM CDT.

* At 829 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles southeast 
  of Silverton, moving northeast at 10 mph.  In addition to the hail 
  and wind threat, given the potential for rapid stream rises, those 
  in and near low lying areas of Caprock Canyons State Park should 
  move to higher ground immediately.  A flash flood warning is also 
  in effect for this area.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Silverton and Caprock Canyon State Park.

FOR CENTRAL BRISCOE COUNTY...

At 843 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles southeast 
of Silverton, moving northeast at 10 mph.  In addition to the hail 
and wind threat, given the potential for rapid stream rises, those 
in and near low lying areas of Caprock Canyons State Park should 
move to higher ground immediately as an estimated four inches of . 
rain has fallen upstream of the core of the park.  A flash flood 
warning is also in effect for this area.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR CENTRAL BRISCOE COUNTY WILL
EXPIRE AT 915 PM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, small
hail is still possible with this thunderstorm.

In addition to the hail and wind threat, given the potential for 
rapid stream rises, those in and near low lying areas of Caprock 
Canyons State Park should move to higher ground immediately as an 
estimated three to five inches of rain has fallen upstream of the 
core canyon region of the state park.  A flash flood warning is also 
in effect for this area.
