The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Hemphill County in the Panhandle of Texas...

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 247 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest
  of Briscoe, or 13 miles south of Canadian, and is nearly
  stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible. 
           Hail damage to vehicles is expected.

* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  southwestern Hemphill County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Conditions are favorable for the formation of funnel clouds but the
threat posed by these funnel clouds is low. Most funnel clouds will
not reach the ground. If they do, weak tornadoes with brief wind
gusts in excess of 50 mph may occur.
