The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Southwestern Sheridan County in northwestern Kansas...
* Until 800 PM CDT.
* At 715 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 7 miles southwest of Hoxie, moving south at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and baseball size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. Baseball sized hail was
reported north of Seguin on U.S. 24.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Sheridan County, including the following locations...
Seguin.

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, small hail and gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern and west central Kansas.
