...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Colorado, including the following
county, southwestern Logan.
* WHEN...Until 1030 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 827 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This may cause small stream flooding. Between
1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
South Platte River, Baymer Creek, Pawnee Creek, Sand Creek,
Cottonwood Creek, Spring Creek and Springdale Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sterling, Logan Corners, Atwood, Pawnee Pass and Willard.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
