The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Butler County in south central Kansas...
* Until 600 PM CDT.
* At 151 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 5
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to
2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for areas in and around the city
of El Dorado. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
HIGHER GROUND NOW!
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported multiple submerged cars in El
Dorado.
IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

El Dorado, El Dorado Airport, El Dorado State Park and El Dorado
Lake.

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, dont
drown.

FOR CENTRAL BUTLER COUNTY...
At 242 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in Homes have been evacuated on the north side
of El Dorado with other reports of people trapped in homes with
evacuations taking place with boats needed to access them. Between 4
and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5
to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.
This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for areas in and around the city of
