...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of the southeastern Denver metro, including
Cherry Creek, Glendale, and Aurora.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 608 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause
urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage
areas may cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between
0.25 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches will be
possible over the area. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southern Denver, western Aurora, Greenwood Village, Cherry
Hills Village and Cherry Creek Reservoir.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
