...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of east central California, including the
following county, Mono.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM PDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 402 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Rapid stream rises may cause minor flooding in
the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 0.8 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
mainly rural areas of Northern Mono County near Mount Emma,
Eagle Peak, Walker Mountain, the headwaters of the Little
Walker River, and the northern Hoover Wilderness.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
