...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central Kansas, including the following 
  counties, Anderson, Coffey, Franklin and Osage.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Rises in small streams. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 811 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Garnett, Burlington, Waverly, Richmond, Colony, New Strawn,
    Gridley, Greeley, Westphalia, Kincaid, Lone Elm, Harris, Le
    Roy and Garnett Airport.
  - This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 159 and 167.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

The Flood Advisory is cancelled for a portion of east central 
Kansas, including the following areas, Anderson, Coffey, Franklin 
and Osage.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Anderson County through 
1 PM this afternoon. Flooding remains possible across the area and 
rainfall continuing through the afternoon could lead to additional 
flooding.
