...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.
* WHERE...A portion of central Missouri, including the following
county, central Boone.
* WHEN...Until 615 AM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1214 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in
Columbia and multiple roads closed from water over the
roadway. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
- Columbia is the most likely place to experience minor
flooding.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Columbia, Ashland, Columbia Regional Airport, Easley, Midway,
Murry, Lupus, McBaine, Wilton and Sandy Hook.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
