...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following 
  counties, Isle of Wight, Southampton, Surry and Sussex.

* WHEN...Until 330 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1240 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen in the past hour.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area through 130 AM.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Smithfield, Waverly, Wakefield, Isle Of Wight, Ivor, Dendron,
    Elberon, Zuni, Rescue, Ellis Fork, Runnymede, Pons, Booth
    Fork, Raynor, Delk Crossroads, Beachland, Comet, Whitley,
    Central Hill and Moonlight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when 
water begins rising.
