...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM CDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Missouri, including the 
  following county, Shannon.

* WHEN...Until 415 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Mahans Creek at County Road 501, Rocky Creek at Highway H,
    Pine Hollow at Highway E, Thomas Hollow at Highway H,
    Sycamore Creek at Highway H and Little Rocky Creek at Highway
    H.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Winona, Birch Tree, Eminence, Montier, Alley Spring, West
    Eminence, Teresita and Ozark National Scenic Riverways.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.
