...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and Pine Counties and Wisconsin, 
  Bayfield and Douglas Counties.

* WHEN...Until 630 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1238 PM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain
    due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
    to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 3
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Duluth, Superior, Hawthorne, Lake Nebagamon, Maple, Poplar,
    Oulu, Oliver, Wrenshall, Port Wing, Holyoke, South Range,
    Amnicon Falls State Park, Wisconsin Point, Pattison State
    Park, Foxboro, Jay Cooke State Park, Nemadji, Herbster and
    Cornucopia.
  - Flood safety information can be found at
    www.weather.gov/safety/flood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not attempt to cross flooded roads in hilly terrain. Find an 
alternate route.
