...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following counties, Albany and Rensselaer.
* WHEN...Until 1230 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water
in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 922 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Albany, Troy, Cohoes, Watervliet, Rensselaer, Colonie,
Latham, Delmar, Menands, Green Island, Waterford,
Loudonville, Wyantskill, Wynantskill, Newtonville, West
Albany, Bleecker Stadium, Roessleville, Shakers and Verdoy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
