* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Central Salt Lake County in northern Utah...
* WHEN...Until 700 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 412 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
in the advisory area.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, West Jordan,
Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights,
Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Bluffdale, Cottonwood West,
Millcreek, Little Cottonwood Creek Valley and East Millcreek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other
areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 509 PM MDT, Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain fell earlier
from strong thunderstorms across portions of the Salt Lake
Valley, which is resulting in flooding of low-lying and poor
drainage areas.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
The Flood Advisory will expire at 7 PM MDT this evening for a portion
of northern Utah, including the following area, Salt Lake.
The heavy rain has ended. Urban area and small stream flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Occasional thunderstorms will bring
another round of rainfall through 8 PM, however additional flooding
is not expected. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
