* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...For northwest Hoke, southwest Moore and northeast Richmond
counties in central North Carolina.
* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 515 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Hoffman, Pinebluff,
Foxfire, Taylortown, Ashley Heights, Sandhills Game Land and
Seven Lakes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 815 PM EDT this evening for a
portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas,
Hoke, Moore and Richmond.
Most of the heavy rain has ended and flooding is no longer expected
to pose a threat. However, there may be lingering ponding on
roadways and full ditches where localized heavy rain occurred.
Please continue to heed remaining road closures and avoid flooded
roadways. Turn around, dont drown.
