...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected over
the Sand Creek Fire Burn Scar.
* WHERE...West Central Beaverhead County in southwestern Montana...
* WHEN...Until 1015 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding and debris flow around the Sand Creek
Fire.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 709 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the Sand Creek Fire Burn Scar. Up to 0.4 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Sand Creek Fire Burn Scar is the most likely place to experience
minor flooding. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.1 inches are
expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move away from recently burned areas. The heavy rains will likely
trigger minor flooding and debris flows in steep terrain, especially
in and around these areas.
