...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of East Arkansas, including the following county,
Crittenden, North Mississippi, including the following county,
DeSoto, and West Tennessee, including the following county, Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1000 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen with additional rainfall expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Bartlett, Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch,
West Memphis, Horn Lake, Hernando, Marion, T O Fuller State
Park, Cordova, Memphis, Lakeland, Arlington, Walls,
Edmondson, Horseshoe Lake, Sunset, Anthonyville and Jericho.

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 2 PM CDT this afternoon for
portions of East Arkansas, including the following area, Crittenden,
North Mississippi, including the following area, DeSoto, and West
Tennessee, including the following area, Shelby.
Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining
road closures.
