...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following 
  counties, Haskell, Jones, Shackelford and Throckmorton.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 512 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are
    expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
    minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Stamford, Albany, Lueders, Woodson, Fort Griffin, Lake
    Stamford Marina, Paint Creek, The Intersection Of Us-283 And
    Ranch Road 209, The Intersection Of Us-183 And Us-283, Lusk,
    Us-180 Near The Shackelford-Stephens County Line and Big
    Country Baptist Assembly.
  - This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
    Loop Road crossing Paint Creek, County Road 209 crossing Post
    Oak Creek, crossings along County Road 117, lake crossing
    Kings Creek, crossings along County Road 374, crossings along
    County Road 376, crossings along County Road 334 and Hill
    crossing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
