...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following
county, Menard.
* WHEN...Until 615 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 311 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Menard, Hext, Saline, Erna, as well as Highways 83, 190 and
29 across the eastern two-thirds of Menard County.
- This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
Decker St. crossing San Saba River, crossings along FM 1221,
Callan Lane crossing, Mahan crossing Taylor Branch, Blau
crossing, Saline crossing Little Saline Creek, Long Mt.
crossing Leon Creek and Ranch Road 2291 crossing Las Moras
Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
