...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the
following counties, Buncombe, Henderson and Transylvania.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 802 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.6 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Arden, West Asheville, Mills River, Fletcher, Etowah,
Mountain Home, Biltmore Forest, Bent Creek, Asheville
Airport, B.R. Parkway-Mount Pisgah To The Nc Arboretum,
Biltmore Park, Skyland, B.R. Parkway-Nc Arboretum To East
Asheville, Avery Creek, Forge Mountain, Horse Shoe, North
Transylvania and Penrose.

threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service
Greenville-Spartanburg by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1,
by posting on our Facebook page, or via X using hashtag NWSGSP. Your
message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred
and the depth of flooding observed.
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
