...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM EDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall are expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
counties, Breathitt, Clay, Knott, Leslie, Owsley and Perry.
* WHEN...Until 845 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or
other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 539 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will
cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hazard, Hindman, Pippa Passes, Vicco, Buckhorn, Bulan, Ary,
Dice, Fisty, Cordia, Talcum, Ritchie, Rowdy, Emmalena,
Diablock, Bearville, Elic, Jeff, Ned and Buck.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory has expired for a portion of southeast Kentucky,
including the following areas, Breathitt, Clay, Knott, Leslie,
Owsley and Perry. Most of this area was replaced with a Flash Flood
Warning,
which remains in effect until 945 AM. Please refer to that bulletin
for more information.
