...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Kentucky, including
the following counties, in east central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott,
Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. In southeast
Kentucky, Morgan.
* WHEN...Until 545 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or
other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 145 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 0.8 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mount Sterling, Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville, Sandy
Hook, Frenchburg, Marshall, Jeffersonville, Camargo,
Sharpsburg, Salt Lick, Fairview, Ramey, Farmers, Midland,
Moores Ferry, Sharkey, Freestone, Bluestone and Hilda.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
