* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Polk County in western North Carolina...
Southeastern Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
* WHEN...Until 945 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 650 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus, Spindale, Tryon, Ellenboro,
Bostic, Alexander Mills, Green Creek, Harris, Mill Spring,
Caroleen and Lake Adger.

- At 920 PM EDT, While no additional heavy rainfall is expected,
high water levels from the previous heavy rainfall will slowly
work its way through creeks and streams. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
- Jim Dobbins Road is closed due to water over the bridge from
Grays Creek.
