* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northeastern Lake IN County in northwestern Indiana...
Northwestern Porter County in northwestern Indiana...
* WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 517 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen in
as little as 30 minutes.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over
the area in less than one hour. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gary, Portage, Hobart, Chesterton, Lake Station, South Haven,
Porter, New Chicago, Burns Harbor, Ogden Dunes, Beverly Shores
and Dune Acres.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in

heavy rain due to thunderstorms over the past 1 to 2 hours. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory
area. Up to 2 inches of rain fell in as little as 1 hour.
- The thunderstorms have ended, with little to no additional rain
expected over the next couple hours.
