...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Carroll County in southwest Virginia.

* WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 753 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    East Fork Crooked Creek, Burks Fork, East Fork Little Reed
    Island Creek, Grassy Creek, Chestnut Creek, Garners Creek,
    Cranberry Creek, Elk Spur Branch, Big Reed Island Creek,
    Brushy Fork and Crooked Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
