* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...East Central Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Southern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...
Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois...
* WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be
flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 209 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Radar and observations indicate
these storms are producing a quick 1 to 2 inches of rain in less
than 45 minutes. This will likely result in minor flooding
shortly after thunderstorms arrive.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Oak Lawn, Downers
Grove, Woodridge, Midway Airport, Chicago Lawn, Englewood,
Bridgeport, Roseland, South Shore, Burbank and Blue Island.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...East Central Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
Southern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...
Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois...
* WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be
flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. Slow moving or standing
water may continue.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 235 PM CDT, a National Weather Service meteorologist observed
several inches of flowing water across roadways in downtown
Naperville due to heavy rain from ongoing thunderstorms. Across
the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Oak Lawn, Downers
Grove, Woodridge, Midway Airport, Chicago Lawn, Englewood,
Bridgeport, Roseland, South Shore, Burbank and Blue Island.

- At 342 PM CDT, doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. A National
Weather Service meteorologist recently observed several inches of
flowing water across roadways in downtown Naperville making them
impassable. Across the advisory area, minor flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional heavy
rainfall is expected.

The Flood Advisory will expire at 515 PM CDT this afternoon for a
portion of northeast Illinois, including the following areas, Cook,
DuPage and Will.
The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
