...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 AM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of west central Virginia, including the following 
  county, Alleghany VA and southeast West Virginia, including the 
  following counties, Greenbrier, Monroe and Summers.

* WHEN...Until 145 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1038 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Buffalo Creek, Anthony Creek, Big Run, Bluestone River, Brush
    Creek, Boone Creek, Big Creek, Broad Run, Beech Run, Bradshaw
    Creek, Blue Lick Creek, Back Creek and Boulder Run.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, 
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather 
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports 
and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 145 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 145 AM EDT early this morning for 
portions of west central Virginia, including the following area, 
Alleghany VA and southeast West Virginia, including the following 
areas, Greenbrier, Monroe and Summers.

The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a 
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
