...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast West Virginia, including the 
  following counties, Greenbrier and Summers.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over 
  roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 440 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Lick Creek, Eagle Branch, Boggs Run, Meadow River, Big Clear
    Creek, Kitchen Creek, Little Creek, Beaver Creek, Little
    Clear Creek, Fitzwater Branch, Big Run, Burns Run, Dry Run,
    Fisher Creek, Greenbrier River, Joe Knob Branch and Boggs
    Creek.
    Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, 
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather 
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports 
and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service 
Blacksburg Facebook page and on X.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

The Flood Advisory will expire at 745 PM EDT this evening for a 
portion of southeast West Virginia, including the following areas, 
Greenbrier and Summers.

Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no 
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining 
road closures.
