...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...West Central Mathews County in eastern Virginia...
Central Gloucester County in southeastern Virginia...
* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1203 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gloucester Courthouse, Hayes, Ark, Pinero, Belroi, Ware Neck,
Dutton, Fort Nonsense, Beulah, Selden, Soles, Pampa and
Allmondsville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for portions
of eastern and southeast Virginia, including the following areas, in
eastern Virginia, Mathews. In southeast Virginia, Gloucester.
The threat of flooding continues and a Flash Flood Warning is now in
effect. Please refer to that bulletin for more information.
