...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding and debris flows are possible over the Gold
Mountain Burn scar.
* WHERE...Southeastern Ouray County in southwestern Colorado over the
Gold Mountain Burn scar and along Highway 550 from Ouray to
Portland...
* WHEN...Until 515 AM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Excessive rainfall is possible over the Gold Mountain
Burn Scar which could lead to flash flooding and/or debris flows,
particularly along highway 550 between Cutler Creek and Dexter
Creek.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 226 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms may impact
the Gold Mountain burn scar over the next few hours. This could
impact flows through the Cutler and Dexter Creek Drainages.
- Cutler and Dexter Creek Drainages is the most likely place to
experience minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gold Mountain Burn scar area from Ouray to Portland including
portions of Highway 550.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Climb to higher ground. Avoid Cutler and Dexter Creek drainages.
