...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northern Collin County in north central Texas...
Northeastern Denton County in north central Texas...
* WHEN...Until 1130 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 833 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor
flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
McKinney, Frisco, Denton, Prosper, Anna, Princeton, Celina,
Melissa, Pilot Point, Aubrey, Krugerville, Cross Roads, Ray
Roberts Park Isle Du Bois, Ray Roberts Park Johnson Branch, Blue
Ridge, New Hope and Weston.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
