...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southwestern Catron County in west central New Mexico...
* WHEN...Until 700 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor
drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 352 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding.
Up to 1.1 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Glenwood, Alma, Pleasanton and Mogollon.
- Hazardous water levels will impact numerous streams in the
Pleasanton, Glenwood, and Alma area, including Whitewater Creek,
Devils Creek, and the San Francisco River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.

...FLOOD ADVISORY HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A FLASH FLOOD WARNING...
The Flood Advisory is replaced by a Flash Flood Warning for a portion
of west central New Mexico, including the following area, Catron. Up
to 1.6 inches of rainfall has fallen north of Glenwood to around
Alma.
The threat of flooding continues and a Flash Flood Warning is now in
effect. Please refer to that bulletin for more information.
