...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southwestern Arapahoe County in northeastern Colorado...
Eastern Douglas County in northeastern Colorado...
* WHEN...Until 815 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 507 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms has been falling an
areas where heavy rainfall fell last night. This may cause urban
and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southwestern Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker,
Lone Tree, Larkspur, Castle Pines, Sedalia, Franktown, The
Pinery, Louviers, Perry Park, Castlewood Canyon and Shamballa.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of
small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage
areas and other low lying spots.

- At 636 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges show
that rain showers continue across southeastern Douglas County.
While rain rates have decreased, rain is expected to continue
over areas where soil is already saturated from heavy rainfall
last night. This may cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
