* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Pike County in south central Ohio...
Southern Ross County in south central Ohio...
* WHEN...Until 530 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 236 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy
rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5
inches are possible in the warned area.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Chillicothe, Waverly, Piketon, Bainbridge, Pike Lake, Kincaid
Springs, Cynthiana, Londonderry, South Salem, Summithill,
Buchanan, Knockemstiff, Lake White, Bourneville, Idaho,
Massieville, Scioto Trail State Park, Pike County Airport, Omega
and Givens.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
To report flooding, go to our website at weather.gov/iln and submit
your report via social media, when you can do so safely.
