* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Northeastern Bell County in southeastern Kentucky...
Southeastern Clay County in southeastern Kentucky...
West Central Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...
East Central Knox County in southeastern Kentucky...
Southwestern Leslie County in southeastern Kentucky...
* WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 214 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beverly, Sandy Fork, Stony Fork Junction, Tacky Town, Saylor,
Field, Gardner, Spruce Pine, Warbranch, Rella and Blanche.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 515 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...
The Flood Advisory will expire at 515 PM EDT this afternoon for a
portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following areas, Bell,
Clay, Harlan, Knox and Leslie.
The threat for widespread flooding has increased over portions of the
area. Therefore the Flood Advisory has been replaced by a Flash Flood
Warning in portions of Harlan, Bell, and Leslie Counties. That
warning is in effect until 630 PM EDT. Please refer to that bulletin
for more information.
